Dental bones and Greenies

Since my mom is away most of the times, there isnt too much bones stocked for my dog. I go to the pet store and buys dental bones and greenies.

However i noticed on the dental bones (smallest ones) it says recommended for dogs 11 pounds and over. my chi is only 6 pounds. what is it so bad about them that they put this limit?

I also brought greenies for my chi, it seems alot smaller than the dental bone (around 10 cm long and 2 cm thick), she chew it up in 30 min, but are they enough for cleaning my chis teeth and is there any health problems with greenies?

She eats nutro small bites dry food.

I've heard too many horror stories of greenie bits getting stuck in the dog's intestines to buy any more of them. But it depends a lot on whether your dog really chews them or not, I know I'm not taking the risk personally. They do not disolve in their stomach.

you can get a Nylabone...they last much longer and clean teeth, as well. they don't break off in chunks, so no real risk in choking or getting stuck somewhere else

I've also found a greenies like chew made by Nylabone. They don't last as long as Nylabones, but don't break off in chunks either and my dog likes them more than regular nylabones. Also, they are recommended for all sizes and ages of dogs, unlike greenies. I do take them away once they become small enough to be a choking hazard.
