Giny,
my last litter was weaned onto steves.... they are all doing great.... I used steves because I wanted a raw diet that was premade and readilly available to all my puppy people. I wanted to make it easy for them to keep their pups on a raw diet vs. switching them over to kibble. I have been successful with that, only one of the pups is on kibble now. as far as quality... I certainly think that I can make a better diet myself and I do.. with five retrievers steves was a bit pricey..... however.... I do use it when I am going away or for the litters. S |

I tend to worry about small pieces of food because of the possibility that they will try to swallow them whole. Those "tips" are very small and pointy. I would go for something a little bigger like a back or a thigh or maybe a whole turkey wing. Since they are not necessarily eating them for nutrition purposes it is not a requirement that they be able to consume all of the bone you present them with. The bigger pieces will offer a better workout for their jaws and neck muscles as well as their minds.
