Muddy Paws!

Brandi Kadin Sparkle and Parker are very active dogs. They love to run in the yard in the morning and play tag and wrestle on the grass. But not all of my back yard has grass. Some areas are still sand from where the old bushes were so they run through the dew drenched grass and then through the sand..... The results are PIGGY PUPPIES!!! I've wiped feet, made them stay outside until they were dry (not an option with the pool) and yesterday I was watching a show about horses. When they get dirty after an exercise session they hose down their legs and bellies. BINGO!! Why can't I do that... So I tried it this morning. I put a leash on Kadin and stood him in the middle of the sidewalk and gently rinsed his legs with the hose and then ushered him into the lanai. WOW success! Parker and Sparkle didn't like it much but now I don't have muddy paw prints all over the lanai and all through the diningroom.... Brandi didn't like the water on her feet but she stood like a trooper...

So from now on I'll be rinsing off the dogs in the morning when the dew is heavy...
