I think I want to get one. Gabby is a MAJOR shedder and I need something because we are getting very frustrated with all the shedding in the house.

I've heard that with long, thick coated breeds (like Collies) you are better off just using a normal undercoat rake, but for people who have dogs like Huskies or Labs it is AMAZING. Never used one before, but know many who swear by it.

It works great on Lucy who has Medium hair and Gabby who has Shortish hair her hair is very huskylike in thickness and she has a double coat. It doesn't work very well on Gracie and Maggie but they both have very short single coats.

I just got a Shedender Pro tonight from Walgreens for $15 and gave it a quick try on Wendy (Sibe) and in 5 minutes got a plastic shopping bag of fur off of her....... I know a lot of people swear by the furminator but I dont think the price tag is worth it when you can get other good products for a lot less

I agree! The Shedender does a good enough job and is much less expensive. I really want to get the shedender pro though. I have the smaller one and it is harder to get a lot of hair with but I get grocery bags full off of my Husky mix all the time.
