Question Can FLEA shampoo BURN skin?

Hi All,
I had gone hiking on wednesday with Cai and when we came home I had found a deer tick on him. In my paniced state I gave him a flea & tick bath and may had left him in the tub for more than the 5 minutes than I was supposed to. Now I noticed that he has some scabing and they are bleeding a little bit Can flea shampoo burn them if left on to long? I rinsed him really good and checked for residue. Or maybe he just has sensitive skin, this was his first flea & tick bath and I used an all natural shampoo for pups & kittens he is only 5 months old. I feel so bad and he his his same old self but I have been a groomer for 10 years and never had this happen so I feel so stupid Any advice would be great! Thanks

Just watch that he doesn't start acting lethargic, vomiting or diarrhea. The sores could have been the flea shampoo or it could have come from another source. You can use an all natural herbal shampoo that repels fleas and ticks. There are many, many nice safe products on the market that repel insects without useing chemical's. To help his skin feel better now, you could give him a rinse in baking soda mixed in water. About 1 tablespoon per qt. of water. Don't rinse it out. Baking soda also draws out insect or weed poisioning's.
