getting started grooming

hey... I've been really interested in grooming and now I think that I may have the time to learn, but the problem is I'm not sure how to go about it. I know some groomers have suggested finding a groomer that will train people. How much do you think a they would normally charge if this really is the best way to learn? and to all the groomers here, how did you get started?

Check your local community collage, I'm sure they have courses on grooming.

I know there are some grooming schools that you attend so you can become certified. I also know that groomers very often train people, but if it is a requirement in your state to be certified in order to groom, that won't work so well from a business standpoint.

I know the groomer I work with has mentioned that she would like to be able to train someone. From what she has said, the trainee would be employeed by the business we work for (a vet office) and she would train as they both work. No extra fees for the trainee, etc, just getting hands on experience and a starting wage. If I work with her full time this summer, I'm going to ask her if she would mind teaching me the basics.

My boss trained me. She actually prefers to get people who does not know how to groom, and train them. rather than have someone who does not groom how she likes, or to her standards.
