I think I'm gonna do it...
I think Ripley is going to be neutered in the next few months... **sigh**
He's a pretty good dog, behavior-wise, for an intact male, there are no humping/leg hiking/territory marking problems, but he SNIFFS around constantly, and he doesn't give me the time of day if he's outside and there is a female in season closeby. I'm afraid that I'll lose him someday if the gate is open and there's another dog around. Tomorrow's visit to the Border Collie breeder will tell lots.. If I get the puppy, I will wait until the pup is house trained and through basic obedience before I neuter Ripley, since Rip is so sensitive and needs a LOT of attention to make sure he doesn't pull his sutures.. And I don't want to be watching a pup AND Ripley at the same time.. All my dogs before him have been neutered, but for some reason this is harder for me to say 'yes' to.. ![]() |

It's probably a good idea. I can't wait to hear what you find out at the Border Collie breeders tomorrow. Be sure and fill us in on the scoop. How exciting!

Yes, as with Lil Paws, I was uneducated about breeding and neutering, but after reading member's posts as well as other materials, I have definitely decided to neuter Boone. Within the next month or two, for sure. So thanks, guys.

Just because you fix him does not mean he will stop sniffing every thing or marking his territory ect...If you want to see if it will make a difference I believe you can get a shot and I think its called the Tardac shot, its suppose to resemble how a fixed male will act....Yes if your not breeding him then have him fixed, but that is a personal descision. Taz is fixed and so is Dozer but if there is a bitch in heat they do all the same things as Junior (intact) does.
