Robitussin DM for DOGS!

Well, I took Cai to the vet last night because he was coughing a little and he was diagnosed with a mild form of kennel cough or canine flu

! Anyways, doctor told me to put him on some Robitussin for his coughing and gave him some erythromycin for the discharge in his eyes. My poor baby! He isn't acting any different that's for sure. He gets lots of contact with other dogs when we are out hiking in the woods. To get to the trails we walk through a dog park so who knows. He will be fine thats all that matters. I just couldn't believe dogs can take robitussin.

LOL yah.. it helps. We've had to use it in the past.. vet recommended it.

Just remember that they can only have Robitussin or the generic brand, They can not have Dimetapp as it contains an ingredient harmful to dogs.

Interesting I would never think Robitussin: I would be scared I have been a people nurse for years and hate medication. I have to talk to my vet about that its great that they can take that.

Thanks Novel, I had to get the generic Tussin DM because they were out of the brand name. I just hope it helps. Me, my daughter and the dog are all sick so we will all be taking it LOL! My two INDOOR cats had a cold a month or so back. I can't stand it, its making me crazy!!!

Robitussin works great! One of my dogs will drink it straight, but the others I use a syringe with the needle taken off the end. That works great or you have red liquid all over!!

Hope your whole family has a speedy recovery.

I give robitussin to my kids as well..... does the trick and they do like the taste....
