Gunnar's got an owie!

So the area right above Gunnar's nose is all red and scabby. I think it is from playing ball and when he gets near the ball he drops his nose to scoop it up, I think he is rubbing his nose on the ground when he gets ahold of it.

Can you guys think of anything that I can put on this area to keep it from getting irritated outside. I would hate to not be able to play ball with him, he lives for it!

Edit to add a picture of his nose, this is how it looked two days ago, now the whole area is raw there.

Ouch Gunnar! Honestly about the only thing I would do is use some bag balm to make sure the area doesn't dry out, crack or get overly irritated and take that ball away for a bit to give it time to heal up.

Triple antibiotic ointment

I think that you might want to put some neosporin plus on it. It is an ointment (to keep it from drying out) and has a mild pain reliever. You can get a generic brand. (It's cheaper) You might want to cut down on the ball playing (just a little) until it has time to heal some. Good luck.
