I am considering changeing Samson's diet , he is a mix black lab /cheasepeak bay retreiver he is 4 months a 2 days old at 43 pounds
... I have been feeding him a mix of Eukanuba's Large Puppy Formula + Lamb & Rice Puppy Formula.. he gets about 26.5 grams of protein . I have been considering switching to another food.. { I had plenty of other topics going on Doggroups.com but their server has been down for the last few days I need some info fast...} One of the best foods I've found is Blue Buffalo . it's very $$$ $42 for a 30lbs bag .. I'm thinking about Blue Buffalo , but I'm coming into ALOT of problems find a PetsMart location that sells their stuff , the closest is 473 miles away ... I am considering buying a large online bulk order of Blue Buffalo , but I need to know if dry dog food goes bad after 6 months or so????? Also to bypass the problem of haveing to buy my dogs food online is bulk orders .. what are some GOOD { price is NOT a issue , I love my Samson } dog foods , there are no petsmarts only a Petco , Pet Star , and a Super Petz.. so my brands are limited to those that those places cover , unless I buy online , in which case I'll get the Blue Buffalo .... I want it to be non-corn based since it is not complety digested by dogs , and less than 26% protein. Samson is a BIG BOY , and I have read about plate disformation and hip dysplasa.. So I am very concerened about his diet , I watch his feeding very closely and I feed him 3 times a day 2 cups per meal.. So in closing with that thread Any good/ bad things to say about Blue Buffalo? Does dry dog food go bad? Any other suggestions for a GREAT , repeat GREAT dog food , for a large breed puppy , 4 months old Thanks For the Advice!!! Here's some pics of Samson incase you're interested... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Samson has beautiful eyes..As for Blue Buffalo food I've never heard of it.. Have you tried Diamond brand. They have a puppy formula (Premium Edge) that has Chicken rice & veges or Chicken Soup for the dog lovers soul.. Theres alot out there. Have you check the local feed stores?

Blue Buffalo is a good food, a little pricey (I don't feed Blue Buffalo, but I know some one who does, and it's great) I feed Chicken Soup for the dog lovers soul which is
$27.00 for 38 lbs, but CS is only sold at local pet stores, so even though Blue Buffalocost more, it is easier to find. Good luck and Samson is as cute as ever! ![]() |

I've heard of Blue Buffalo, but don't know anyone who feeds it. I use Flint River Ranch. It's a Super Premium food. You can go nuts worrying about what to feed your dog. It's like going down the cereal aisle at the grocery store. The choices are endless. IMHO as long as the dog is getting the nutrition it needs with not a lot of fillers and preservatives, the dog likes it and eats it, and it's within your budget, that's all that's really important. Those who disagree with me can take it to the debate forum.

umm yeah, just because I use CS, I would recommend it more then anyone I didn't feed, I know how much my dogs love it and what it's doing for there coats... but all the other ones are great too. At this point, I would go with either the cheapest or the easiest to get. oh. BTW you need to post more pictures!

Hey Jason,
It's Liz and Bogart from DG!!! Anyway I feed Bogart Solid Gold Wolfcub (this is their large breed puppy formula) and he does great on it. It's also packed in an air tight package so it stays fresh while on the shelf at the petstore. If you're concerned about freshness, I would recommend putting the food (leave it it the package though) in one of those large plastic bins you can buy at Target for like $5. Hope Samson is well! |

I'm still trying to find out why doggroups went down...again. You still see a cPanel set-up on the domain, which tells me that they are either no longer on the old server, or putting everything on a new server.
I had heard that doggroups went down because the server they were on went belly-up |
