Fish is wonderful for them. The Omega fatty acids for dogs are made from fish oils. I've always given tuna, cod, salmon, sardines and any other fish that we grill for ourselves. It's so good for the skin and coat, especially in the winter months. Mine also get a fish oil capsule every day.

However....don't feed salmon skin. The meat is fine, but the skin, I've read is toxic to dogs. My dogs love fish too and get tid bits when I fix it. They got a wee bit of smoked salmon and cream cheese on crackers last night. They didn't get to have any wine though with it.

yes its fine and quite good for them in small amounts - but be sure to cook it thoroughly as there are some parasites that infect fish that can cause disease in dogs.

Is that just the skin from *fresh* salmon? or does that also include canned salmon?
