update on Chloe

Hi everyone,

just a quick note to let those of you who knew Chloe was going into hospital today for dental and blood work up.

She came through fine but rather gummy. The thing that distressed me most was that she had an ulcer in her mouth and it had 6 grass seeds lodged in it. Boy I am a rotten mummy
He has also done some cultures because of her kidneys. Such a long time on medication. ( he thought she would only last 6months and it has been nearly 3 years)
No wonder Chloe was licking all the time. I am so glad I got brave enough to take the risk for her to have her teeth done.

I now have a new diet provided by the vet so when I have finished my nursing duties I shall post it for anyone interested.
It is for dogs who need a low protein diet.

Have to go and smooch my girl and also placate Izzie who was left home all alone alllll day and is sulking badly

Thankyou all my friends for your kindness

Glad it's all done and over with, Linnie and that it turned out for the best. You must be so relieved and no your not a rotten mummy, silly girl! As hard as we try, we simply cannot catch everything...if only pups could talk.
Anyhow, you can relax now , have a nice day!

I'm so happy to hear she came thru so well. Your NOT a bad mommy. My Zada found an empty film case day before yesterday that had vitamins in it, in a purse that was on my closet floor. She chewed the cap and a peice of plastic was stuck in her teeth and I didn't even notice it when I brushed her teeth yesterday evening, not till last evening. Poor girl. It was large enough that she couldn't close her mouth all the way. Anyway they didn't eat the vitamins, so I'm thankful for that.
Yes, please post the low protein diet. Most older dogs should be on this kind of diet because of their ageing kidneys.

Linnie, I'm so glad all went well! And I agree, there is no way in this world anyone could ever think you were a rotten mommy! Any creature living under your loving care would know with no doubt that they have the best there is!

Glad she's ok and those nasty grass seeds are out. I wonder if that was the cause of the bad breath?

Give her a hug for me. She's a battler.

Cass.

I have been out in the doggy yard ( the one I thought was safe for my babies ) I have ripped up and shaved the grass. Am now in the process of making a rock area cemented in as well so no grass can grow there.
Chloe is just soooooo happy it is wonderful to see.

Cas her breath smell changed to putrid and thats why I actually got brave enough to take her and yes I do believe the ulcer with the grass seeds was so infected it was putrid.
