Unhappy HELP! Blood in urine!

My older dog Bandit (11yrs) just peed on the floor outside my parents bathroom and it appears to have a little blood in it . He had just gone out maybe a half hour to 45 minutes before that and he never does this in the house. He is going to go to the vet first thing tomorrow morning but I did call the 24 hour hospital I use on off hours of my regular vet. They couldn't tell me the causes of blood in the urine until they have seen him (which I understand) but I just think it is stupid that they couldn't give me a few causes of what it maybe so I googled it ! Kidney stones, UTI, does that sound about right . Any thoughts would be great and I will see what the vet discovers tomorrow. It is so sad how you look at your dog and one day they just look old, I was looking at him one day last week and I started to cry. I hope this is nothing serious, I'm not ready to let him go over the rainbow just yet, we still have many more trails to hike, we just went hiking today with my other boy Cai and my old boy was in his glory. Please say a little prayer for my little old man.

A couple of weeks ago I took my pugs for a walk, and when Bentley stopped to pee on a bush, I looked down and saw quite a bit of blood. Ugh. Doesn't that give you just an awful feeling? Anyhow, we went to the vet and it turned out he had a bladder infection and crystals. He's been on a special food for the crystals and this week I have to toodle on in with some pee to be tested to see if they are gone.

Anyhow, I'm just saying to try to not worry too much (easier said than done I know). I bet you'll find something similar.

Will say a prayer for Bandit and you too! It's going to be a worrisome night, but try and not worry and get some rest. If your too upset , Bandit will sense it too.

Yes, he is fixed Is your dog? Has he had that before? I just caught a urine sample in a cup and he is off to the vet in a couple hours so hopefully it is a UTI and can be treated easily.

I'm sure the vet will take good care of him. Let us know how he is. Give him a hug for me....(not your vet, your dog) LOL.

Well, Bandit has a kidney infection and is on medication, they also found some arthritis in his hips. They took some blood work as well and we are waiting for word tomorrow to see if he may have something else. Hopefully it is nothing worse. Thanks for your thoughts
