Oh also forgot to add yesterday - use brown bread not white, the starch and sugar levels in white bread are way high and can put extra pressure on her liver. The last thing you want is liver failure on top of chronic renal failure.

ok I presume it would be a proper brown bread like rye??
I have to go shopping tomorrow so will get it then. then in 10 days she goes back for more blood tests. I am hoping against hope that they come back ok as he felt it may have been an infection that was causing some of the readings. But whatever needs doing I will do for her. |

None of them would be my own personal choice for a dog with kidney issues. Grain foods and high starch are big no-no's for renal issues. jmo

Yes proper wholegrain brown bread, although any type is better than white. Also try to avoid one with whole chunks of grains in it because of the choke risk.
