I can certainly understand that. Too bad as I would think the less stressed the dog was when he arrived the better the tests might go.

Waiting for an update as well! Crates come in handy when you have dogs that upset easily.

My vet told us we could use dramamine for our pooches when we went on a trip to Texas. We never had to use it but maybe a couple times.. but it worked wonders! Used this also when the hurricane was around. Lilly especially needed it.

But of course, I wouldn't give my dog any type of medication before consulting my vet.

Whoops, rambling. LOL Let us know what happens! Wishing you the best of luck that there is nothing seriously wrong with your pooch!

well just got back we have been gone since 10:30 till just now. he did great on the car ride, he is really calm on the highway but worse in the city. anyway we did the MRI from the preliminary findings they did not see any cancer, they did send it out to a radiologist for further examination just to make sure we will find out more about that in about 2 days. they also did a spinal tap, and we will find out the results on that tomorrow. other then that he is the same, and now our pocket book is $3000 lighter. i'm in talks with canidae about the food and i will send some out for testing tomorrow and also send some to msu for testing.

I'm glad he did well on the trip and through the tests. Hopefully they'll be able to have some answers for you within the next few days. I know this has been really tough on you and I want to thank you for everything your doing for your boy, it's obvious from your posts that he is very loved and a very lucky guy to have such a wonderful owner.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and please give him a big hug from me!

Happy to hear he did well in the car! Am as anxious as you to find out the answers to the tests.

And yes, your pooch is a very lucky dog to have an owner as caring as you! Once you find out what is going on, your pooch will give you 110% in return!

Thinking about you and your pooch. Keep us updated.

ok got the news on the spinal tap nothing came out, so tomorrow we will wait for the news on he MIR scan from the radiologist. also today he peed in the house, he does not ask to be taken out anymore, he drinks a ton of water and just walks, so we have to keep an eye on him about that. other then that he is the same, also i finally sent the food to canidae for testing to see if they will find anything.

What blood tests have been done? It really sounds like it could be thyroid or even diabetes related?

well we got the results on the MRI and nothing cam out, not the neurologist is pulling for the long things like maybe it was an old stroke or something like that I'm starting to get pissed off, we are over 3000 into the hole and no answers. i also sent the food off to canidae for testing and am talking to a local toxicologist for testing it for heavy metals, organic and micro toxicology. we will make that decision when it comes down to it. i have to touch base with his normal vet to see what he says we should do.

update 2/10/06 well he is getting worse, he balance is getting really bad he is slamming his head into everything, falling down a lot. they took some blood for a thyroid test, and some urine for something else and they have got him started on prednisone. hopefully that will help, we will get the results of the tests on monday or tuesday. really i will only allow this to go on about 2 more weeks if they have no answers, i think it will be time to say goodbye, he is getting worse and so are we. its too taxing on everyone.
