As far as I know it's fine. Maybe salt reduced is better, but I haven't heard anything negative about it either. In fact it's often recommended for use in kongs (although that doesn't mean much, I guess

I was told by an holistic Vet. that the old fashion kind (that you have to keep in the ref.) is the best for the dogs because it doesn't contain sugar & salt. It's all natural. My guys love it!
