Bare Pink Belly
I have a rat terrier who is 2 years old, almost 3 years in July and her belly is still pink and barley has any hair on her belly side. I'm wondering why this is so. I was hoping as she grew up her pink belly would soon be covered with hair but it seems like no hair is really growing on her belly. It's the same as when she was a little puppy.
I'm wondering if anyone else has the same kind of situations or know why this is so. |

Both of my black and tan Dachshunds are bare bellied and my dapple dachshund has tons of hair on hers. Bailey's hairless tummy is grey and Lucy's is pink. We thought it might be an allergy to our carpet shampoo or wood pellets so we took the dogs to the vet. The vet said some dogs just have thinner hair on the belly, no reason behind it. My friend has three dachshunds that have full thick hair on the tummies. I don't mind it though..it's fun to rub their tummies and blow rasberries on them.
