Question Boston Terrier- blood in vomit and loose stools

My best friend's dog has vomiting and diarrhea and there is blood in both of them.
She dropped her off at her vet this morning.
I was just wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong.
Has anyone else ever experienced this with their dog?

TIA

Jill

Sounds like Parvo to me. Make sure you keep your dogs away from where hers has been!!! Parvo can live on the ground for years, if it turns out to be Parvo she needs to wash EVERYTHING with bleach water, her floors, decks, steps, sidewalks, everything. Many people even bleach their grass and kill it because parvo can live on it so long.

Yeah, I agree. Parvo was the first thing that came to my mind after reading. A trip to the vet ASAP is in order, just in case. A dog (especially puppies), can go from fine one minute....to *no longer with us* in as little as 48 hours if it isn't detected and treated.
I hope it isn't that, but best wishes that the poor doggie will be just fine.

off the top of my head i can think of about 15 diseases, and more if I stop to really think. These are symptoms for a slew of problems. No way of guessing. Hope the pup ends up well. Keep us updated!

this is often genetic. Poodles especially get it, but also a few other breeds. Hope he gets through it ok.
