Please keep Fanny in your thoughts

Late yesterday when I let the dogs out I noticed that one of our 6 month old pups ( Fanny ) seemed to not feel well, she was slow to walk outside and wasn't interested in running with her brother and sister which is VERY unlike her.

When she tried to potty I noticed her straining badly and it took forever for her to even get a little number two out. When I brought her back in I watched her for a bit and she really just wasn't herself....not feeling terrible but she just wasn't her happy little self. We took Fanny into the vet's office, knowing that bullies are notorious for eating things they shouldn't and how she was acting it concerned me that she might have an obstruction.

The vet felt the same and Xrays were taken, sure enough there is a blockage but we weren't able to tell for sure what it was so, this morning Fanny goes back in for a barium test so we can get a better idea as well as try to tell if it's moved. Depending on what we find out she may have to have surgery today.

The thought of surgery scares me to death, as many of you know, we lost her mother shortly after Fanny and her littermates were born due to complications from the surgery / anesthesia and I'm really worried that our little one won't make it through.

Oh Crossfire.... I will defnitely be praying for your little girl today!
I'm hoping that the obstruction has moved and that she can possibly pass it herself so to save her from surgery.
Please keep us updated!!

Sending prayers Fanny's way that the obstruction is safely moving along on its own and surgery is not necessary, and if surgery is needed that it is successful and Fanny has an easy & quick recovery.

I'll be praying for Fanny and that she won't require surgery. I sure hope the obstruction moves along. Do you have any idea what she might have gotten into?

Oh no Sonja! You and Fanny will be in my thoughts, I hope everything goes well and she doesn't have to have surgery, but if she does I really hope everything goes without a hitch.

Cass.

Thank you all, your well wishes and prayers helped out! We took Fanny in this morning thinking of course the worst, after a better look it was found that the obstruction IS moving and providing all goes well she won't need surgery!!! We're not totally out of the woods yet but sooooo far so good!

From what we could see on the films and what she's starting to pass now it appears to be small twigs and leaves. Looks like they all just kind of balled together in one area which was causing the problem but so far things are looking better!

Thank you again everyone for your kindness. Hugs to everyone from Fanny and I!
