It's a really simple procedure. They basically make an incision into the abdomen, use something called a 'spay hook' to scoop around and find the uterus/ovaries. Once they are found they are just basically removed. Then the animal is stitched up and off to recvery!

a cat spay is basically the same as a dog spay. neuters are different, though.
