Lilly had her surgery today

Well, today Lilly (my 20 wk old Lab/Border Collie Puppy) was spayed. She went through the surgery fine, but now that she is home...I don't know. She seems to be having chills, she won't drink anything, and when we fed her a little white rice(which is what the vet said to give her) she threw it up. Is this normal? I am really worried about her...especially since she won't drink any water. The vet is closed tonight, and I don't know what to do...Any advice? Is this a common thing to happen after a spay surgery?

It's probably a reaction from the anesthesia (sp?). Keep an eye on her, she should be getting better soon. If she's still having problems on Friday, definitely talk to your vet.

Is she doing better today? Hope so!! Like rmci said, it was probably a reaction to the anesthesia...pretty common. I know I've felt that way after surgery, too!

Glad to hear that all went well. Give her lots of hugs from me and one for yourself for having her spayed.

Ok, I will
Lilly had her stitches taken out yesterday, and the vet said they were healing good! I'm so glad...I was so worried at first, but now she's all better

Great to hear!

I'm just wondering why she was spayed so early? No offense, I'm just curious!

We wanted to have her spayed, and our vet. thought that was a good time to do it. I was thinking it was kind of young too, but the vet. thought it was fine, so we had her spayed.
