yellow almost white poop!!!
my year old lab is not acting herself this afternoon. Probably the last 4 or 5 times that I have taken her out to the bathroom her poop has been so bright yellow that it is almost white. I have called the vet and they arent sure without me bringing her in. But i just wanted to get some opinions and see if anyone else has had this happen to their dogs. She is herself but not as hyper as usual. About 6 months ago she had parasites so im hoping that isnt what it is again!! please respong ASAP!! thank you so much!!

Always room for one more

The first thing to consider is anything in her diet that's changed. Did she get into the trash or anything? New food? Treats? How long has this been going on?
If you can't peg it to something normal in the diet, I'd take her in asap. |

it could be simply something she got into outside. labs seem to get into everything as my golden does! anything weird outside she could have gotten into? is it the runs or solid? if you are very concerned i would just bring in the sample cause that shouldnt cost too much.. good luck..

Yellow / almost white in color stools in an adult dog are usually a sign of a serious problem and you really should have your dog seen by a veterinarian.

I feed my dog a raw diet. Sometimes with certain meats his poop will turn a beigish white(usually from pork). Its the calcium from the bone that causes this with my dog. So perhaps it was the bone you gave her the night before. But it probably would be a good idea to check with your vet. Especially if she's not acting like herself. Hope you find some answers!

I wouldn't hesitate to take your pup to the vet and personally I would also bring in a sample of the stool itself...may save a step and give the vet an added advantage of finding out what is wrong. I sure hope it is nothing serious, please keep us posted.

Same here ewinscout!
Too much bone equals white poop! But in all seriousness i would get a vets advice, especially with your pup acting out of sorts. Better to be safe than sorry! Not sure who said it now but i also agree with the suggestion to take a stool sample in for analysis, it could speed up the process no end. Best of luck and keep us posted. |
