ear and skin yeast infection
It is definately that, My girlfriends dog has it and she was wondering if their is any natural things she might be able to do for this little maltese. She is a rescue and needs boosting up in general health so she is a bit apprehensive about medicines just yert.
Any ideas guys ???? |

I just read today that the ingredients in many dog foods can increase the chance of ear infections.
I would look into a good quality food first. Solid gold makes a really good one, hud-n-flocken for dogs with allergies or many ear infections. Also, there is an oil you can put in their ears to clear up infections.. I wish I could remember which one....tea tree? maybe you can do a search and find it. I am sure others will have ideas too, I hope she can get this poor dog fixed up. |

I use yogurt added to the diet to reduce yeast infections. Also, look at the dog's sugar intake. It may be elevated, or it may be too much for that particular dog. Also, add cranberry (I use cranberry extract powder, human grade) to the diet. I believe Solid Gold carries a "dog grade" supplement. It works in human women, and it works in dogs too.
Oh, and yes, now that I read Mrs Grubby's thread more carefully, tea tree oil can be used, both as a cleaner, and orally. Colloidal silver can also be used orally and as a cleaner, and is a safe all natural antibiotic. |

ITA with the others. I would go to a low carb, grain free kibble like Evo, Barking at the moon or Raw instinct or switch to a raw diet. I would add probiotic in addition to the yogurt. I assume they are doing some antifungal treatment as well?
