My Boy Stan
Hi to all, I'm hoping for some advice or a piece of formation to give me hope.
I have an Old English Sheepdog who has been diagnosed with a Bone Marrow deficiency (excuse the spelling please). We took him into the vets when his red blood cell level read 10% for an emergency transfusion with 1 of my other dogs. It lifted to 17% but has since fallen back down to 12% in 4 days and his white cells are falling too. He is on a course of steroids and antibiotics and apart from being extremely thin and anemic (appolgies again for the spelling) he is as lively and hungry as ever. He doesnt shy away from fuss and is as involved in the family as ever. What can I do? and is there any hope? I obviously don't want to lose him and I am looking for suggestions for help. Many thanks for reading and I hope you can help. |

I am so sorry you are going through this. No one here is a vet, your best bet is maybe find a homeopathic vet ( natural ) see what they say. But a second opinion may be in order....But welcome

The very best advice I can give you is to discuss this with your veterinarian, if you feel that your not getting the answers your looking for the if it were me I'd get a second and even a third opinion.

Agree with crossfire... You need to have a vet that is going to help you every step of the way with this serious issue. If you are not happy with your current vet and their response to you, search out a new one ASAP!
From what you describe it sounds like something very close to leukemia... My prayers are with you and your OES! |
