Winston has diabetes

Took Winston in today because he hasn't been feeling well, not eating, throwing up, drinking alot, disorientated, to name a few things that have been going on the last couple days.
Well, he has diabetes. He will be at the vet's for 2-4 more days. They are giving him electrolytes and trying to stablize him. They are hoping his kidneys haven't been damaged too much. If all is good, he will be on insulin and be able to have a happy life.
Please keep the little bugger in your prayers!

I'm sorry to hear that, but luckily you found out now rather than later. I hope Winston will restore to his usual self with the insulin. Poor boy!

I'm so sorry! I will have him in my prayers and hopefully his kidneys aren't damaged. Poor baby.

He will be in my prayers! How horrible - that sounds a lot like what happened to my Bubby when he was developing kidney failure (not trying to scare you, just telling you I've been in the same boat), but we couldn't figure it out.

Well, his blood sugar is back to normal. It was over 700 when I brought him in. His phosphurus levels are still high, and that is not good.
Hubby saw him this morning and I was there this evening. The vet is just amazed at what a happy little guy he is. I swear there is not a mean bone in this dogs body. Just all love.
We are bringing him his blanket tomorrow..cause he will be there atleast a day or 2 more. He did look perkier today.
Keep sending the positive thoughts and prayers and I will update tomorrow after I talk to the doc!

Oh my gosh, poor Winston! We'll be kleeping all of our fingers and paws crossed here for a full recovery so he can come back home! Hugs to Winston!!
