Vet info??

I hope it`s the right place to post this...I am interested in finding a new vet, after 15 years with the same guy.
So,I was wondering,is there some place on the web to get info on GOOD vets??? I really don`t want to just pick one out of the phone book!
Any help would be great!!

It's kind of hard to determine if a vet is good or not, since it's all on personal preference. My vet I actually went in to meet him without my pets before I made an appointment. My previous vet was ok, but I didn't like the staff at the office. While some people wouldn't mind a highschool co-op student clipping their dogs claws, and so short that they bleed, I was not impressed. Tysa now has issues with her paws being touched, this happened when she was just a pup. I didn't like the receptionist either, she was really ignorant, and rude.
I'd say, if you've stayed with this vet for 15 years, and you like him, stick with him. My vet is a bit of a drive, but I don't care. I really like him, and the staff. And it took me a while to find one that I liked, and my pets liked too!
If you are going to switch, call around and see if you can meet up with a few, and do it that way.

Check with your friends /neighbors and see who they recommend. I found this to be very helpful.

Find someone who you recognize as being a stellar pet owner, and ask them who they use. Ask them why they use them.

Call your local humane society, and ask who they recommend.

I drive an hour to my vet. I like him that much.

Like others have said, ask people who you know care about their pets who & why.
