Unhappy Abcess *Graphic Pics*

Well at 8:30 this morning I was on the phone with the vet to get Lucky in for his abcess. It's the same spot and it was deep. I got him ready to go and he hurt so bad trying to get in the car he was yelping. He was so loud my neighboers came out. They know his situation and helped me get him in the car. I watched the vet cut him open and dig, it was amazing how deep this thing runs. He found nothing still. He said next time it happens he'll have to just cut a big area and explore. I feel so bad for my kid-o. I took him home all drowsy from the meds. Im glad I have understanding neighbors cause they helped me carry Lucky in the house. He has since come out of it and is tending to his wound. Here are some pics (not for the faint of heart)

I hope that we can get this found out. It's been a year and a half. Lucky turns 3 on the 13th of this month. I feel so bad for him. I'll do anything it takes!!! Keep us in your prayers!

Oh my goodness! You would think that with something that serious he would be admitted and the problem fixed once and for all! What did the Vet. say is causing this? Goodness, could you maybe find a specialist? Should he be licking at that? Maybe he should wear a cone till it healed. Could it be he is keeping it irritated?
I'm so sorry to be asking so many questions, but this is really a very serious problem, and I would not want to see him put down if it can be corrected with maybe someone who is the expert.

It looks worse than you think cause the pics were just taken after we got home. It is a foriegn body inside him that the vets cant find cause it's deep under the muscle. They are great vets and have been doing all they can for him. It's okay for him to clean it, he doesnt do it often. He had just woke up in those pics I took. I would try and find a specialist but I my car wouldnt make it out of town to take him. Oh and he's not in any danger of being put to sleep cause of this. The last abcess he had opened was back in May. If I can't get whatever is in him to flush out this time then the vet is gonna do some major surgery and exploring. Im hoping it doenst come to that, but whatever needs to be done will be done for Lucky's sake.
Calgal dont worry about asking questions you sound like me talking to the vet. They have been so good to me and Lucky. They tell me everything they know and even break out the books to let me read things. I even got to go back and watch what they did today. They truely care for him like I do. I trust them.

Wow! I sure hope he starts feeling better...poor guy.

Your vet sounds like mine...even making copies of pages from their books that I can take home and study. I love it!

Thanks all. He is doing much better right now. He can move around and we cleaned him all up.

He's been resting and staying in, although he wants to be outside, poor guy. He's eating and drinking just fine, he was so sore this morning he wouldnt eat, but when he came home and snapped out of things he was ready to chow. I'll keep everyone updated.

fancychicken, yes a piece of something. It could be as small as a cm, thats why they are having trouble finging it. Obviously its not a big thing like a pellet or bullet so it must be something small. The Vet told me it could be one of those little thorn pieces from a sticker plant, then again it could be something else. He is doing soooo much better today. He can jump back on my bed, which is where he sleeps, so I guess really its his bed, king size even LOL (I sleep on the couch)
