Exclamation Scarlet Pimple Nose Puppy

So i have a almost 12 month old yellow lab. Very healthy and happy but he once had a bump on his snout just behind his nose. I was looking at it to make sure it wasn't an infection or bug or something when i accidentally popped it. It popped like a zit would but it was all blood. My dog, Louie, didn't really seem to care or even notice. It was healing, swelling went down like a zit would and it was getting better. Today we noticed it again in the same spot and we just went ahead a popped it. Again, blood.

My question is, what is this on his nose? Is it normal? Should we leave it or pop it? Should we be worried?

It really could be a number of different things and a question that I wouldn't feel comfortable or qualified enough to answer. This is something that really should be checked by a veterinarian.....especially since it's a reoccuring issue.

Best of luck and please let us know what you kind out.

I would bring him to the vet too....and avoid popping it.

Lightbulb puppy chow

We have a bag and a half of puppy chow left. He is now full sized and still eating puppy chow. We think it is the extra fat in the puppy chow (or something in the puppy chow) that is causing these little blood zits to appear. Once the food is gone we're switching over to Dog chow and if we are correct he will be cleared from whatever those bumps are.

Nogoat, you asked this question already a few days ago. http://globalpaw.com/showthread.php?t=2502? How many answers do you want? Why don't you just take him to the vet?

Well, i came to this site for advice and all i've gotten was, "I don't know, take him to the vet"

Are there no vet's on this site that could in fact answer my questions instead of being rude?

NoGoat, actually no there aren't any Vet's here that I know of. We are a group of dog lovers with a few Vet students (I think) and some trainers, breeders that post to "try" and offer advice to other dog lovers... I don't think flyndog was trying to be rude, I think maybe she just thinks maybe a vet could tell you more then we can....

I don't think anyone here was attempting to be rude, you asked a question and people attempted to give you the best advice they could offer. Even if there were a vet here as a member of this forum I doubt very much they or any vet online for that matter would give blanket advice without seeing your dog.

NoGoat, I certainly didn't mean to come off as rude. I apologize if I gave you that impression. I did intend to point out that you posted twice about the same problem, and that folks offered advice to you in both threads. i posted two different posts for two different problems and we came up with the same possible cause for both. The one under his chin is large and blobby like a big lump of fat but it changes, the one on top of his nose is small and blood filled.

Anyway, i know a vet could tell me more but if i wanted to take him to a vet to ask them what a bump on his nose was and pay however much for the visit, i would have.

Sorry Nogoat. I really misunderstood or didn't read the questions well, then. As far as not wanting to take your dog to the vet for a lump that changes and a bump that bleeds, well, it's your dog to do with as you choose. I would certainly be more concerned with my dog's health than the cost of a visit to the vet.

he is healthy. Neither seem be be getting bigger, both right now seem to be getting smaller or going away and he isn't botherd by them. The urgency isn't there. You wouldn't go take your kid to the doctor because they have a cold.

I think he needs to go to the vet. If anything like this every happened to one of my girls I would probably freak out and schedule an appointment soon. But that's just me. BTW.....if the cold was bad, I'd get the kid to the doctor LOL jk.
