Getting Roxy spayed--what first?
I need to get Roxy spayed, but I believe Roxy is underweight. I'll have them do blood work before putting her under, but I'm guessing she needs to be at a healthier weight before I take her in? Is there anything else I need to consider or check for health-wise before making her an appointment? Her last vet visit was about 10 months ago and she had an exam and shots. She hasn't been sick since then. Just wanted to check.

Don't quote me on it but other than being a healthy weight and having the blood tests done I'm pretty sure that's all they can do beforehand to check everything is ok before going ahead with it.

Yes, make sure she gets up to a healthy weight. I think they have a weight limit on them as far as when they can be spayed (of course, it would probably differ from dog to dog).
Blood tests and getting her up to a healthy weight is about it, if I'm correct! |

Yup, that's what I'd think to, and probably a routine check-up. Also finding out if she is already spayed or not......LOL. Not sure if you know for sure yet (I have a bad memory..haha), but doing a spay if she's already been done wouldn't be good! |
