Stinky breath!!!
My dachshund Milo has the nastiest breath. Of course he went through the whole puppy breath stage but now it smells like EARWAX!!! I switched his food a couple of months ago to Iams but now I'm going to change it again due to all the recall craziness. He also has been licking his bottom alot. Could this be from the change of food or should I speak with his vet? Has anyone else had a dog that had earwax breath?
I know this may sound silly to some but I really am concerned and grossed out. Please help if you know of anything that could be causing this. |

do you brush his teeth?
When's his next vet appt? If his bottom is bothering him that much, he may need to have his anal glands checked. |

The problem with many dogs on dry foods is it doesnt provide enough roughage to stimulate the anal glands, which means they get impacted and need to be expressed, i find once they have been tended too its usually a regular occurance...
Has he got any plaque build up? a crack in a tooth? etc worth getting him a workover if you are concerned... |

Since bad breath can be a sign of a medical issue the very best advice that I can give you is to see your veterinarian and make sure that there isn't a health issue before trying other things.
The bottom licking can also be a sign of a problem that your vet should be made aware of. |
