My poor dog this is his third bout of diarreah in about 2 months.
I am beginning to think he does it on purpose to get the people chicken. So petie is about 2 years old and 44 pounds, he has a fondness for other animals poop. Ie other dogs, cats, ducks, geese. We try and be vigellant on the walks but sometimes he is just so fast. If other owners would pick up after their dogs it would be much less of a problem. Anyways yesterday during his evening walk apparently he had what we called smooshy poop started out normal then the end came out like a cow pie. That was at7 pm. At about 9pm he let out the most awfull gas ever so I walked him and he didn't poop Late last night around midnight I got up to check the wave crashing over the seawall and Petie whimperred a little bit so I freed him from his crate and let him in the yard, he wnet behind the garage and had diarreah with a lot of gas. Again at 1:30 am. So at midnight I gave him a vet prescribed immodium. ON his 6 am walk he was a bit better so I gave him another immodium to hopefully avoid a crate accident. When this happens we usually put him on a diet of chicken and rice and immodium until the symptoms go away. for the most part he is no worse for wear. We have tried canned pumpkin with no luck. We feed him 2 cups of Candidae Chicken and Rice all stages formula a day. Sometimes he gets a piece or two of broccoli , bully sticks, Old mother Hubbard treats. The vet always chalks it up to indescretionary eating (poop) We are kind of at a loss now |

Well, you need to have a poop sample examined by a vet. It doesn't cost much and will tell you exactly what kind of bacteria is upsetting your dog's stomach.
Since he's eating goose poop it could be that he has giardia (parasite), in which case he'd need to go on an inexpensive medication (Flagyl) to get it under control. Prevention is the best medicine. If your dog is a scavenger, and it makes him ill....you need to be more careful where you take him and make SURE he doesn't pick anything up off the ground. This might mean keeping him on a leash. |

Yeah we do keep him on leash at all times, and if we do catch him picking something up we will reach in and try and pull it out of his mouth.
The last time we took him in to the vet with a sample nothing was found. this case cleared up pretty quickly |

Good! I am glad!
![]() Teddy had recurring diarrhea every few weeks and his stool samples were coming up negative...turns out he had pinworm that FINALLY showed up in a stool sample...(months later!) Diarrhea is so frustrating, isn't it??Arrgh! |

Since he eats everything like that I'm sure he has picked up some parisites. Nasty things that do cause upsets. If you can get a stool sample without contaminating it, take some to the Vet. for testing. He may need to be put on antibiotics.
