Do you regularly de-worm your dogs?

Hi there,
Just doing some reading and curious about this...
I'm referring to a routine (every 3 months or twice a year) even though the dog has no symptoms and likely no worms.....???
Thanks!
S

Well, montly heartworm prevention is often an effective de-wormer for some worms. But to answer your question, no we don't worm on a schedule. We worm when/if they need it.

Our dogs get heart worm medicine monthly, and aside from that, aren't dewormed. We occasionally have to give Rose pills because she'll get worms by eating a dead animal, but it clears right up. I think the only time you really need to deworm your dog on a schedule is when they are baby puppies.
