Sammi has been throwing up...

Sammi has a sensitive stomach so depending upon when she eats she may throw up bile once in awhile. The vet told us to give her a biscuit before bed. Yesterday however she threw up liquid. I figured she was just excited (it was in the car and we were going to the lake). And then this morning I found small piles of throw up around the room - having the consistency of Thanksgiving stuffing. I want to take her to the vet, but my bf thinks I should wait it out. Whenever the slightest thing is off I always rush her to the vet and so far every time has been a nothing serious. She hasn't been having diarrhea, ate her food last night, but has yet to eat her breakfast. Should I be worried? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

On the bright side - Sammi swam for the first time yesterday. At first she swam like a person, but then got the hang of the doggie paddle.
Sorry for being away for so long Sammi and I have missed you all

Personally, I would pick up her food and see how she is tonight. It won't hurt her if she doesn't eat for the day. I wouldn't feed her til tomorrow and tomorrow breakfast would be boiled rice and boiled chicken. Just a little bit.

Were did you take her swimming? If you took her to a lake or stream, then if the vomitting doesn't subside today - take her to the vet.

Yes I would also give her stomach a rest from food for 24 hours. Make sure she has access to fresh drinking water though.
If she is still unwell then I would definately take her to the vet

I had a cocker spanial that used to vomit bile, she had to be able
to snack all day cause when she got hungry it just came up. This
of course made her fat, but she was otherwise healthy, lived to be 13 years old, and died a natural death.

Don't some dogs get acid reflux like humans? I think I have heard of it before, and the dogs are prescribed Pepcid (DON'T give this to them -- discuss it with your vet).

I'd do the same as everyone has suggested. Take up her food for the night, and start her on a bland breakfast, slowly working her back onto the food.

Are you sure it's not the food? My oldest sibe, Sheiba, had a sensitive tummy as a pup and could not eat certain foods. We switched a couple times and finally found one that is perfectly fine.

thanks for the replies everyone! sammi is doing so much better now, after her walk that night i guess she was feeling much better, she was so hungry she just sat by her bowl waiting for her food. i feed her nutro and have been feeding her the same one ever since she was a puppy so i don't think it was the food that made her sick. i'm guessing it was just some kind of bug, she's doing well now and the throwing up has stopped. i've been reading so many posts on parvo that i guess i got myself a bit too worried. thanks so much for the replies, i can always count on globalpaw for good advice!
