Have you recently changed his food or introduced new treats? As the prior post said could he have gotten into something?
You can try mixing up some cooked lean hamburger & white rice and give him a small portion to see if he can keep that down. Is he drinking? You need to make sure he does so he doesn't get dehyrdrated. Is he acting normally otherwise? I agree that a vet visit would be the best course especially since it has been over a day. |

Take your puppy to the Vet as soon as possible! It's not something that you can hang around trying to find out what it could be, if it's not normal call or take him/her to your vets.
I hope your pup will be ok, im sure he/she will be fine Izzy |

i agree. vet pronto. pups can dehydrate very very quickly, especially with both vomiting and diarrhea, even if the cause is something silly like eating something he shouldn't have.

I hope by the time I'm posting this that you've already had your pup into the vets office and that all is going along well. Please let us know when you can how things go.

Of course, diarrhea can be a sign/sx of many diseases. But it should be checked out at once with a puppy. And not always do the vaccines necessarily protect. It sure does cut down on the chances, but that is one scary disease.
some signs and symptoms of parvo: Two forms of CPV have been identified: diarrhea syndrome and cardiac syndrome. Diarrhea syndrome, or enteritis, has an incubation period of five to fourteen days. Dogs with enteritis act like they are in extreme pain. Early symptoms are depression, loss of appetite, vomiting, high fever, and severe diarrhea. Feces can be either grayish or fluid and bloody. Rapid dehydration is a danger, and dogs may continue to vomit and have diarrhea until they die, usually three days after onset of symptoms. Others may recover without complications and have no long-term problems. Puppies can die suddenly of shock as early as two days into the illness. The second form of CPV is cardiac syndrome, or myocarditis, which can affect puppies under three months old. There is no diarrhea because the virus multiplies rapidly in muscle cells of the immature heart. Puppies may stop suckling and then collapse and die within minutes or days. No effective treatment is available for cardiac syndrome, and surviving puppies may have permanently damaged hearts. |
