Please get your boy neutered. The bump on his testicles could be a clogged pore, boil, or something worse and serious. You can only be sure the severity of the condition if you have a good vet look at him. When was his last physical exam? Did the vet check his testicles of abnormalities at his last visit?
If you are holding off neutering because of finances, please contact these people for free neutering information, Pit Bull Rescue Central There are many programs you can use for FREE neutering services. The red bump on his leg could be an abscess, it's really hard to tell over the internet though. Abscesses are common and your vet can take care of it quickly. It will not be expensive to treat. Most likely your vet will drain it, irrigate it with special solutions, cover it with a wrap and give you a 10-day supply of antibiotics. ETA- I noticed one of you last posts about Mange, here on GP (problem and question), are the bumps in your photos the same as the Mange spots? How is the mange, did it clear up all together? |

Rose once had a spot like that on her leg and I just kept a very close eye on it. It took a while for it to clear up, but it eventually did. I washed it when it got dirty and generally tried to keep it clean. When you get your boy's testicles looked at I'd ask about it thought, just to make sure.

I have to agree with the general response here. The neuter issue is a big one. There has to be a humane society closeby that will do it either with a hardship discount or, some type of grant help from the state you live in. I think you'll find you'll be solving a multitude of problems once he's fixed. He wont go rambling off through fences because he wont have the drive to do it. Chances are, his 'boys' are leading him on journeys throughout the neighborhood looking to "spread his seed". Once it's done you won't believe the change that will ultimately be for the better of it all.
![]() As far as the health issue goes? Yes, he needs to get checked. If that lump on his leg grows, it could definitely turn out to be an absess not to mention the one on his nard's. There's too many benefits to mention to advocate anything else but having him neutered. Goodluck with your decision... -Shmee |
