Heat cycles follow a general guideline but are not always generic if you get my meaning. Every dog is different.
Sometimes at the end of a cycle a dog can have a slight bleeding for a couple of days before they finally finish. I would keep a close eye on it, if it changes color to yellow, or it continues on for more than a couple of days...seek a vet. |

I'd take her to a vet just to be sure.

Couple questions then....Tell me the date of the start of her heat cycle.
Is she drinking and pooping ok. It may be a vet visit I'm afraid, the discharge sounds normal, end of cycle, but the not eating is a worry. Could be the heat cycle that has done it, lots of hormones racing round their body, they do go off their feed a bit, but not to the point of vomiting and not eating at all. |

im guessing it was around the 28th feb, shes drinking and poohing ok and weeing, she will eat biscuits we give her for training (malted milk) and will eat treats but when it comes to dinner she wont really make an effort we changed her breakfast she was on her normal complete and sardines, she now has sardines and toast which she does eat so shes not starving

Okies, well if she wasn't eating at all and continually vomiting I would get her to a vets asap, but that is not the case.
I worked out your dates and that is exactly 4 weeks, the discharge is pretty normal, heat cycles can go up to 30 days or more all up, cause it is a mucky brown and not bright red sounds like she is fine and it is all normal. I would keep an eye on her though, if she doesn't pick up in a day or two, the discharge turns yellowish, or she vomits more, please get her to a vets asap. |

Hey your welcome, been through what you are going through heaps of times, it sure is worrying isn't it, we all know our pets and when something is just not quite right.
I would assume too that being Easter it would not be easy to find a vets open at the moment. |

I agree with Bendigo ~ All normal and probably the extra spotting was brought on by the extra activity she hadn't had in a few weeks.
I would be a bit concerned however if she had been out of the metestrus and anestrus already and into her fifth or sixth week or the bleeding was fairly heavy. |
