Exclamation picky eating..losing weight

Plain and simple..keira is being a finicky eater again....lost alot of weight. eats about half her food everyday. She does this every couple months....she eats the same thing as always..nutro nat choice lg breed. beforei had to add wet food to it everyday. then she decided she didnt like that anymore and we went back to just kibble....which she was eatin good....any ideas?

I had the same issues with Montana when she didn't like her kibbles even with mix-ins. I finally gave in and made her real food, our girl was so stubborn she would literally starve herself waiting for the "good stuff" and I was not in the mood to fight with her. In retrospect, I think it was the best for her nutrition wise and I should have listened to her earlier but Mom is stubborn too

Ooops, forgot to ask, what will she eat? Will she eat meat or foods other than kibbles and canned foods?

well....sometimes yes and sometimes no...what she likes changes with her moods sometimes. Yogurt, tuna, salmon, chcken livers all used to be on her top favs list...same with treats. She lollies back and forth with what she likes sometimes...

What about food recalls....have you fed anything that's been recalled lately? There's kibble, canned, pouches and treats. I also see Nutro products on the lists, might be worth checking HERE.

Another note...Montana was always up for meats, yogurts, cheese and her regular favorites when on strike. I wonder if something serious is wrong with Kiera if she's not really eating "high value" stuffs.

How's her energy level and mental focus?

ah well..strike is over. Shes eating again. Im thinkin this time it was cause she was gettin into my gfs dogs food and thought if she stopped eating she would get his food....weve been through, innova, wellness, and solid gold. She did the same with them too. Never noticed a diofference in her other than not eating eating. Shes always alert and ready to go.

Ahhh, that's great. Glad you got her eating again. Still check the food recalls often, hate for something bad to happen.
