Help please. Mass on trachea symptoms

What are the symptoms of a mass on the trachea? My 6 year old chihuahua came down with a cough and wheezing on Monday and we thought it might be kennel cough because we recently adopted a puppy from the shelter. Well we took him to the emergency vet that afternoon and they put him in an oxygen chamber. They said he might have a collapsed trachea or he might have a mass that didn't show up on the x-ray. He is still coughing and it sounds like a goose or duck, but I am worried sick he might have a mass. We plan to have an endoscopy done soon. Does anyone know the symptoms of a mass on the trachea? I am really hoping and praying that this is just tracheal collapse and nothing worse.

Please help! Thank you.

Poor little Chi, I'm glad your consulting a vet and getting the endoscopy, it will clear up a lot of questions.

I'd also recommend looking into elongated soft palate and reverse sneezing caused by stress or allergies, tiny and short nosed dogs almost always have reverse sneezing issues so you'll find info on lots of breeds not just Chihuahuas.

Does your dog usually honk like a goose when excited or gets vigerous exercise? Does he act like he's going to hack up a phlegm ball or stretch his neck out while standing stiff making the noise?

Mine goes into fits when overly excited, stressed, fearful or when he's eaten too many grains or eggs, which he's allergic. If I see he's getting frequent fits (1-5x a day) I'll pay close attention to diet, including stuff he picks up off the floor.

Here's some links for you, I hope they help a bit...
