discharge

My two year old Boxer, Ollie, has been having a yellowish discharge from his penis. The problem is not the color but the odor. It is very strong and has a metallic smell to it. I notice it most when he is sleeping, and when he just wakes up. He dosn't seemed bothered by it. He urinates fine, and doesn't lick or mess with it constantly. He has been nuetered and we do have a female dog also. My husband and I are getting sick and tired of the smell! I have never owned a male dog before, so any help would be great!!!

Thanks, Mindy and Ollie!!

Has the vet ruled out any sort of infection? I have 4 male dogs (pugs) and have never had that problem (smell).

I agree with pugdawg1, a vet should rule out infection or something else that is wrong with him first.

Definetly a call to visit the vet. If there is a strong odor, then that's a red flag! It's possible he may have a slight infection. Your vet can help you with this.
