Skin Rash

I noticed this morning that my puppy has a really bad skin rash. He has red bumps all over his skin, I know he is not allergic to his food because I have not seen this before. Last weekend I took him to get groomed I wonder if he is having a reaction to the shampoo and conditioner they used.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to make the rash go away? I will call my vet but I thought I would check with you guys first.

Thank You

Yes, please do contact your veterinarian as soon as possible so your pup can get some relief.

As for what it might be, where is the rash located and what does it look like? Is it localized to one certain area, the entire body or maybe the stomach, feet and face? Is it red and patchy, almost looking like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle or little red bumps?

I noticed that he has it on his stomach, some on his body and under his arms they are little red bumps.

I called the vet and they told me to give him Benadryl and to use Gold bond powder on his skin to see how this works, if the rash does not go away to bring him in.

Could this be an allergic reaction to something? or maybe he got bit by ants I just feel so bad for him.

Glad you got in touch with the vet. Hopefully the medicine and powder will do the trick. It very well could be contact allergy to something.

Sometimes certain types of weeds will break them out on their underside. I'm sure the powder will make it feel much better poor thing. Let us know how he does.
