That's so sad. But its true many people don't know all the foods that can harm a dog.

Check out this for some other toxic foods and plants

No, thank goodness. Mine do get some 'tasties', but I try to be sensible in what they get.

My dogs are constantly eating the plants in the yard. We've had a few messes as a result. We had already cleared our yard of harmful plants though. Once Macie took a big bite of chocolate cake we had just brought home and left on the counter. It didn't make her sick, thank goodness. Needless to say we immediately put away any potential doggie delights.

I'm very strict about what my family gives to my pup, i told them he can only eat his dog food. Is it bad for my puppy to eat grass in the backyard.... i know my family doesn't put pesticides or anything... even still... he likes to chew on the grass. Speaking of food, i'm not thrilled with his purina puppy show, i'm planning to change it to Chicken soup for the pet lovers soul puppy food... has anyone used that? the sale's person at the store recommended it because he used it with his dogs.

All my guys eat grass, but I try to limit it because too much makes them sick. I think its a dog thing, because most dogs I've seen eat it.

My three will all eat grass on occasion. Two more than the other one. Rarely do they ever vomit because of it. Sometimes I think they crave something, and I swear sometimes they just like to get a rise out of me. LOL

Oh and I have heard good things about the Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul food. I have not tried it personally, I cannot get it in this small town, but if it became available around here, I would like to try it.

All my dogs eat grass...I have heard of that food..We don't get it here but I have heard on other forums that its pretty rich, so it would probably give my crew the poo's. Use what works best for your dog, your dog may do great on it or may not. You do have to give it a bit to find out if it works...I couldn't use purina it gave mine the poo's plus I don't care for the ingredients.

I'm guessing that you all have heard that onions are bad for the dogs?? Just wanted to throw that in there.

The purina pro plan does well for my pugs. I'd feed a better food but it is simply not available in this town. I asked the local feed store if they could order a food for me (canidae, chicken soup, wellness, nutro, whatever) they said no. Not a licensed dealer for that. I went to all the places that sell dog food, looked at what they had, compared ingredients and pro plan is the best of few choices.

I think dogs will eat grass if they have an upset stomach.
