I forget what it is you're feeding him.
My opinion is that there are some more that aren't listed. Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul is a good one. Some that lots of people think are so great, in my opinion aren't that wonderful like Proplan. If you just look at the ingredients. I think it's better than a lot of foods, but not as good as many. Also, I think Science Diet is full of a lot of bad stuff and lacking in many things. Vets try to push that because they often sell it so naturally they want to make more money. And the grocery store brands leave a lot to be desired. There are some great foods out there and they're not that much more expensive. In fact, they may end up being less as it seems to take less to nourish the dogs....not so much waste and fillers. I noticed two of my dogs getting fat fast when I switched. I had to cut them down a bit on the amount I was feeding. Carrie |

Well...I don't know. That's what I came across quickly. I guess one could find out a more up to date list. Like I said, I bet there are indeed some more good ones out there.

I've heard good things about the Chicken Soup food... One of his dry foods right now is Canidae, which I'm not too happy with. (He doesn't like it) He also eats in small amounts Royal Canin puppy food. I'm making the switch to dog food, and weaning him off the puppy food. Something about the Canidae, though, he fasted for two days before he finally took a couple bites, and still doesn't like it. I might try the Chicken Soup for the pet lover's soul food...
I wish the pet stores would give samples, then I could find a good food that he'll like to eat. Go figure...He loved Beneful, but I just don't want to put him on that... |

I think he'll like Chicken Soup. It's got a lot of veggies and things that I think add flavor. My dogs all liked that one. I switch around from time to time. It did give Lyric awfully soft stools, but a lot of things do that to poor Lyric. It doesn't do it to the other dogs. So, I don't quite know what his deal is. The vet didn't have any answers for me.

The Canidae gave Ripley soft stool at first as well... I think it might have been just switching cold turkey to a new food, though, but I'm anxious to get him off the stuff.
What's so nice about him being small, is that I can train with him, and he can get a meal from the "sausage" dog food. (It's the Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance food roll, and it's the only treat he'll work for) A pet store near us has Chicken Soup, I think I'll pick up a bag next time I go there. Sounds to me like Lyric is just sensitive... Buster is the same way. I don't think he even gets nutrition from rich foods, they just go right through him. |

Innova is a good food, and from what I've heard here, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul is also a good food. Just browse around on the internet and research what you want to feed Boone, then read the ingredients that are in the 'naturalistic' dog foods... Sometimes it takes trying a few brands to see which your dog thrives on.

there is a more recent list, but WDJ asked that people stop posting them online. they are available by subscription to the WDJ site/journal - they also offer free 2 week trials as well IIRC
