Pedigree Breath Buster?

I bought some treats called Breath Buster by Pedigree. Kota has some pretty rank breath so I figured I'd get her these and see if they worked. So far disapoined. Does anyone know better treats for bad breath? Or cheaper tooth brushes? I looked at her teeth and she has a little tarter on them. But around here the toothbrush and paste thing is like 20 bucks!

Magic gets just a plain brush on her teeth I don't use toothpaste cause it doesn't have any prophylactic benefit except to give them a pleasant flavor in their mouth so you can continue to brush.

So what takes off the tarter? THere's no toothpaste that is beneficial? Even if it doesn't certainly the taste would be more pleasant for them.

How old is she? Once a dog reaches a certain age, the vet recommends a dental every year or so. Belive me, it HELPS alot with breath. We had a stray come in who we re-homed, and we gave her a dental before hand, it worked wonders.

FYI though, they can be pricey.

Those treats didn't work for me, what helped a little (as Chloe used to have stink breath) was the stuff you add to the water.

This stuff: http://www.petedge.com/shopping/prod...ProductID=3511

There are a few pages of other things you can try too: http://www.petedge.com/jump.jsp?item...DEX&itemID=337

She should probably have her teeth cleaned but I can't really afford it right now. She goes next month for her shots. I planned on asking them then how much it costs or if they recommended something else. It really isn't that bad. But I really don't want her face in mine with that stench. Something that she likes to do a lot!

LOL, I agree, bad breath is icky. I would try the rinse for now and see if it helps any. It helped with Chloe.
