Leg Problems

I tried to search for this problem in the forum but I did not come up with anything so I thought I would ask.

I have a 9 week old doberman puppy. I had noticed lately that when he sits his front legs (the right one in particular) shakes a lot. I had a dog who had his leg broken when he was a puppy and his shook a lot too so I made an appt with the vet to check that out (and next shots and what not) and he sayed that Tobys legs were bowed (forward I guess because his wrist-like joints are set foward, so he walks kind of more on his toes) and I am really sorry if I am confusing you guys, I couldn't seem to find any information on this and so its hard to explain what I mean.

The vet suggested I move Toby to regular adult dog food to help slow his growth and other then that, to just see if he grows out of it. I wanted to know if you guys know anything about this type of problem or could give me some regrence material so I could read up on it.

Additionally, Toby has cuts/sores on his lips. It's because he chews on them while he chews on his toys. Anyone have this same problem and does he just have to outgrow it?

Sorry about all the questions, but this is my first puppy that I have to deal with all the problems and I am terrible at just worring to death over things.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

There are some breeds / puppies that do not do well with lots of protein and too much will cause problems with the growth plates in the legs, this causes the legs to bow and sometimes by switching to an adult food ( less protein ) the problem will correct itself once the muscles and ligaments have time to catch up.

Many pups play too rough and end up cutting their own lips on their toys, I usually just watch to see and when you begin to see red on the nylabone or whatever it is then its time to switch to a new toy.

A bit different of an angle on the bowing than what I'm used to seeing with my breed but basically the same thing yes. Hopefully you've caught it soon enough and the food switch will help over time.
