We just found out this morning that the oldest of our two labs has this and is bleeding. There was nothing the emergency vet said they could do and we are completely lost. We rescued Hershey from a shelter 7 years ago after his owner had to give him up due to her own cancer. There was no signs, this morning my husband noticed he wouldn't eat and was barely walking. We have both said we will not let him suffer.

How are things going with your Hershey? Where they able to help?

On Sep 4th, our baby beagle fell ill. At first they thought it was rat posioning. They gave him a plasma transfusion to save him. After a day of testing and wondering what was wrong they sent us to another clinic to get a better ultrasound of his liver. The attending oncologist there advised he believed it is hemangiosarcoma.
I still have my hopes it is not. I have been trying to do research on this and hence arrived at this forum. I keep reading of instances where it is mainly found in the spleen. There is nothing in his spleen or lungs or heart. He is very young too, only 7. I am devastated...and on a roller coaster of emotions.
Our vet and the ongologist felt there was a high risk he might pass if we did surgery to biopsy the liver and take out the mass/tumor that was bleeding to 100% confirm it is hemangiosarcoma. so we decided to bring him home and take care and love him from here. He is doing good now. He did have 2 other episodes since then of pale gums, bloated tummy and lethargy. But has survived both.
I wonder if anyone has any additional advice?
My heart goes out to all of you on this thread. I wonder, is anyone still out there?
