Help! Dog may have eaten cooked chiken wing bones
Our 9 month old cocker spaniel got into the trash and may have eaten some cooked chicken wing bones. As soon as we heard him we ran and grabbed him and proceeded to get some bones out of his mouth but do not know if he swallowed any or not. He is not currently choking and is drinking water and eating treats okay.
Is there anything to be done now or do we just wait and see if he develops some type of symptoms indicating there is a problem. Not sure if the bones will splinter and puncture his stomach/intestines or if he will be fine. What should we watch for? Do we need to have x-rays done tonight at an emergency center or wait and see if he develops a problem first? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You! |

If he is not choking I would wait to see if there is a problem with him having a bowel movement. Also call your vet and make them aware and ask their advice. It may be small enough to just pass through but I would keep a close eye on him and if he exhibits any abnormal behavior take him to the vet.
