Exclamation Diarrea :( HELP!

Kobe's been having some problems...

He's been getting diarrea from time to time, and I'm not sure why?
A while ago he had a big accident in my room, poor guy couldnt even make it to tell me to go out like he usually does. He just woke up and let it all go. It was all over my wall, his bed, and my carpet. He looked at me as if he was in trouble, but of course, I didnt punish him for an accident. I took him outside and was left with this huge mess at 5 30 in the morning. [Took me about an hour to clean]

Well, now, today, the same thing happened, just not as bad. Just on my carpet this time, and it wasn't a huge blob of it either, but still was very disgusting. I am wondering if it's his dog food, because he was fine when I switched his dog food for a month since my dad baught the wrong type of dog food for him. I usually buy him IAM's Large Breed, but I am thinking this food is just making his stomach upset. I am hoping it's that, and not something like worms. Does anyone have any idea what's going on with my poor bubba? Any suggestions on what to do? I dont want it to happen again.

SO HELP!!

Do you know if there was any blood when he went? This may be a sign of parvo. There is a really bad strain of parvo going around this year. I think I would go to the vet right away or call your vet. You can also look up parvao on the net. You might save your dogs life. Good luck hope things will be okay.

Has his outdoor stools changed? is he even going #2 outside anymore?
have you noticed anything else...increased itching, decreased appetite, lethargy, any change in behavior....
How far apart were these incidents? Can you find any similarities between the nights? like he ate late and went to bed, or he ate really fast, or we had such and such for dinner (and maybe he was given/sneaked some scraps?)
I'd try to gather as much info as I could, and then just give the vet a phone call, explain all the details of each incident and ask if there something you should look for.
If they suspect parvo, worms, or some other ailment, there will be other symptoms etc. They may need a stool sample, etc.

I agree with Richnrissa. The vet will need these questions answered. If it's an on again off again type thing I doubt very much it would be parvo. Adults with parvo don't always show as acute of symptoms but the runs wouldn't stop and then start again as your saying.

Never hurts to give the vet a ring though and see what they would like for you to do.

He has been iching a lot lately, and losing his appetite, but he loves the other dog food, maybe he doesnt like his dog food. I gave him medicated shampoo for his skin and coat, and the iching has decreased.

There is no blood in the diarrea and it was like 3-4 months before or a little less that it happened the first time and now. He's still very playful, hyper, and his old self, he's just been itchy, probably from all the fox tails we have in our backyard, and hasn't been to thrilled to eat his own food. Which dog food brand do you recommend? I was supposed to take a poop sample for the vets to check for worms, and i had a sample, and my mom threw it away and i never had time to get another fresh sample. I should really try for one though because I dont have him to have worms and find out later on and it be a lot worse.

I dont think it's parvo, because as Crossfire said, it's an off and on thing. He needs to go to the vet anyway for a check up, i'll ask them about it and tell them what's been happening. Thanks for the advice!

If its 3-4 months apart, I wouldn't worry too much. You can take the sample for piece of mind, that would be a good idea. Change in foods, a little extra stress, heat, etc can all cause an occasional spell of loose stools. Its probably nothing.
