Well he still isnt doing any better but hes not doing any worse either so i dont know. The vet said that hes stopped with diarrhea but is still throwing up but not as much and they are gonna change the meds for the vomitting to see if he will stop completely.

went to go see him an hour ago and hes actually doing worse. He woke up and walked to the front of the cage they had him in but then licked my arm but then went back to sleep and was shaking. They said he wasnt responding to the meds as well as they thought he would and the pain meds arent working that well so they are gonna up his dossages. They are going to do a plasma transfusion and beyond that hes gonna have to pull through himself.

I had a Chihuahua puppy go throught it when she was a puppy.. She is still with us now.. Well we kept her home the first few days and fed her gatorade and she got to skin and bones, but I fed her a dropper full of clear gatorade every hour and sometimes even every half or a hour.. about the 4th or 5th day, we took her to the vet and she got the iv drip for a while and they told us to take her home. So I did the same thing, then she got so bad, we had to take her back on a day they were closed, sunday. And she stayed all night and we were seriously planning on her being dead the next day.. it was so bad. But she wasnt after that day she started regaining her strength and I got to her to start eating again and now she is back to normal.. I hope your dog gets better..

ok so we talked to the vet again and she said he went more than 12 hours without throwing up but then he did it twice this afternoon but with like more than 3 hours inbetween them. so hopefully this a good sign that he is going to stop throwing up.
I just talked to my parents who are at the clinic now and they said he hasnt really improved since last night and the bill is up to $2500. I dont know if we can support him any longer so we will have to see what my parents decide. |

well everyone this story has come to an end (i think) and its a happy ending.
We brought him home tonight and he hasent thrown up since 630 yesterday and he is eating/drinking (about anything he can get his mouth on unfortunatly, its time for some clean up). We are still going to give him one more shot of SubQ just in case and he is going in for a check up tomarrow morning. He went from 7 to 5 pounds through all of this and he is soooo skinny but hes eating so he should gain it back pretty quick. I think he forgot his potty training though since he just goes where ever he wants now but thats ok considering hes been sitting in a cage for the last 5 days. This whole deal was really a hole in our pocket but its worth it. Thank you all for your support and ill come back with an update tomarrow or a few days later. |

Hi
Hi jbrad I have a 7 month old puppy with parvo and she got it from my neighbors puppy and right now she is recovering from it. We have been taking her to the vet for the past 5 days both morning and night and she has been getting the subcutaneous fluids and all sorts of shots, believe me I know what you are talking about when you say you cannot afford it because it is going on about $800 that we have spent, but she is my baby and I will not let her die. She is now eating solid foods again, slowly it is taking some time, but she has been keeping them down. We started her on baby food just the first foods meat kind and she is devouring that. The vet gave us some dog food in a can to try to get her to eat but she only likes that when it is mixed with the baby food. the dog food is really bland. It is a tough time trying to get her to drink water but I keep syringeing some Pedialyte into her mouth and she swallows it. So just keep hoping and praying and I will do the same for your puppy. By the way my dogs name is Prue, she is part black lab, part Rottweiller. Good luck and keep me posted.
