a while ago i noticed balding spots on my puppy. i was reading into Demodectic Mange and i heard that it sometimes clears up on its own. i left it and just monitored it for a while then i noticed a spot getting bigger so i took him to a shelter vet person and she just looked at it and told me it looks like that mange and basically told me it would most likely clear up on its own. At that time he had two spots, one over his eye and the other on his front leg. but now ive noticed the one over his eye getting a bit larger and the one on his leg clearing up but then i notced one on his belly and one on his back leg.
now im getting really worried about it becoming an all over body thing. i want to take him to a real vet to get it treated before it gets worse. Does anybody have an estimate on how much it will cost to fix it? |

You need to take your dog to see vet. Your dog need medication. |

mange doesnt always clear up on its own... and a shelter vet no offense will probably tell you that because she isnt making huge money off seeing your dog...
you should take your dog to a vet small animal clinic and say hey look my dog has this can you dip her or him and is there anything i can do to provent it hugs |

If in fact it is mange the longer you wait the more it will cost to treat. While someone can look at it and tell you they believe it may be mange the only true way of knowing for sure is by skin scraping.
Your pup needs to be seen by a veterinarian before it gets worse. |

I'm very much into natural health care. It's a safer and cheaper cure. You may want to check into Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide To NATURAL HEALTH for DOGS & CATS. Richard H. Pitcairn, D.V.M., PH.D.

Hello- My dog had d. mange when we brought him home from the shelter. I can understand your concern over the cost of treatments, and when I researched it as well I read that sometimes it clears on it's own, but you should really get it looked at by a vet. I learned that it can be itchy and even painful so the medication is the best bet. I only had to do an ointment on Chance and it cleared right up. The vet at the shelter said stress can play a role. There are different things you can do, as far as the medications and dips. You don't want to have your pup deal with this on his own. It does get better with the treatments so keep your head up.
