Any one ever heard about this product? Its the only one other than Hartz in the pet store and my dog had used it last summer. It is stuff safe?

I would really like to know this too. I have been using the flea collar and I have been thinking about using the topicals. I don't want to hurt my baby in any way though. I heard about some being taken off the market...just want to be safe.

my personal opinion is that you're basically wasting your money on the over the counter stuff. it may or may not be dangerous if applied properly, but it flat out doesn't work.

go to the vet and get some frontline or advantage.

I would suggest reading this before you decide what to use to repel fleas. http://www.pesticide.org/fleainsecticides.html

Well...after reading a lot in this forum...I am thinking about trying Seven Dust. I read it is safe...but are their risks to that too? We have gotten our dog Frontline before. But, we just ran out and wanted to see if there were any cheaper alternatives. Truth be told..she still got fleas with Frontline. Do those flea meds kill all fleas...or just a lot of them?

DO NOT USE SEVEN ! Or for that matter diazanon . Both have been proven harmful . A better ( and organic solution ) thing to use is Diatomaceous Earth . It is a great thing to use for all soft body insects which include fleas . here is a link where I found some great info on it . I have not had the need for this great stuff for a long time . But recently have found the need for it again .http://www.hydromall.com/happy_grower16.html . In some areas you may find this stuff hard to find . But thanks to the net you can find companies that carry it . Also my sister used seven at her house and the cats got sick from it . Yes it got rid of the fleas but it did get rid of some of her kittens as well .

Don't forget to treat the home (especially the dogs bedding) and property for fleas as well. Spot on treatment kills fleas on the dog but not in the environment around it.

Sevin is a chemical created by Union Carbide many years ago. I use it to kill grub worms and moles in my yard. You were smart to avoid it. I have much success with Frontline Plus, as long as I apply it early enough in the season. There is a new product I've read a little about, Promaris. I'm going to ask my vet about it. So you might check with your vet about effectiveness and cost.
